Seedlings Daily Rhythm

Here’s an example daily schedule for our Seedlings classrooms:

Arrival and free play 8:00 A.M. – 8:30 A.M.

It’s so nice to see everyone this morning! As children arrive, they are welcomed by smiling teachers. They can play independently while they wait for their friends to arrive.

Morning Circle 8:30-9:00 A.M.

The start of our day we come together in a group prayer, bible reading and worship time. We talked briefly about the day's planned events. We will also sing our ABC’s, 1,2,3’s and Colors in English and Spanish.

Morning snack & Outdoor Time 9:00 A.M.-9:30 A.M.

It’s time to have a quick healthy snack under the open pavilion before we play.

Guided Lesson + Focus activity 9:30 A.M.-10:30 A.M.

The classroom comes together to do a guided lesson and group activity or craft! This can happen either inside or outside the classroom.

Outdoor play 10:30 A.M.-11:00 A.M.

It’s time to go outside! Mostly little ones play on the play structure, using their imaginations. Outdoor time can also include water play.

Lunch 11:00 A.M. – 11:30 A.M.

Time to wash our hands, help set tables, and get ready to eat lunch!

Work Exploration 11:30 A.M.-12:15 P.M.

In Montessori settings exploration using all the senses provides the starting point of the early years curriculum. Practical life and sensorial activities offer young children opportunities to develop manipulative skills and eye-hand coordination as well as problem-solving and thinking skills. This early independence and exploration are the foundation for creative thinking as well as the basis for later more academic work.

Story time 12:15 P.M. – 12:30 P.M. (Half Day Pick-Up)

Every afternoon, we gather and wind down with a short puppet show and story time. We calm or busy preschoolers with soft music and close the curtains to transition into rest time. (Half day students will be picked up during this time frame.)

Music & Movement 12:30 P.M. – 1:30 P.M.

Time to get those wiggles and jiggles out. Children love to move, sing and dance to some of their favorite nursery rhymes and toddler tunes.

Second Snack and Outside Play 1:30 P.M. – 2:00 P.M.

We head outdoors for a second snack time and more vitamin D! Mostly little ones play on the play structure, using their imaginations. Outdoor time can also include water play or nature exploration.

Free Play and Pick-up 2:00 P.M. – 2:30 P.M.

It’s time for pick-up! After a busy day together, children are given the space to play independently until pick up time.
